Fall 2014 TV Round-up: Sunday Edition

Well, I guess it’s been a while since I’ve last posted (but weren’t those banana doughnuts delicious?). I guess a few things have happened since I last wrote. We sold our house, we moved 2000 miles across the country, and we’ve been apparently watching a lot of Dora the Explorer. Yeah, some of these were more life changing than others.

These Can’t be Vegan Banana Doughnuts

Hello, there! Yes, I’m looking at you. You probably don’t recognize me because I’ve been gone for so long. I could give a plethora of excuses (great, now I feel like watching The Three Amigos), but what does it matter? I got busy. I got lazy. I got distracted. All are true, but I should have squeezed in a little time to my dear friend, the blog.

November craziness

Well, it’s that time of year again. No, not the holiday season–although that’s already upon us (thanks, Best Buy for the first Christmas ad I’ve seen on TV this year:/ ). It’s Nanowrimo time. Pro tip: when you say “it’s Nanowrimo time,” do it to the tune of “Hammertime.” It just seems to work better that way.

Fall TV Round-Up: A Case of the Thursdays

Back in my day–oh, so long ago–Thursday nights were “Must See TV” nights. People tuned in by the gazillions to see if Ross and Rachel would ever get together. They pined for the familiar setting of the Central Perk. They were taken aback when Monica and Chandler somehow ended up married. Those were the days.

Fall TV Round-Up: Wednesday (It’s just another whiny Wednesday)

Well, now that I have the tune to “Manic Monday” stuck in my head, I’m finding it difficult to focus on my post of the day. Really, fall TV should be every week–just so I have an excuse/motivation to write every day. It’s pretty stinking hot here, so I’ll try to type with as little movement as possible to try to keep cool….or perhaps I should write this with my feet in the baby swimming pool?

Fall TV Round-Up: Tuesday Edition (Yee haw!)

Howdy, folks. I hope y’all had a fantastic Labor Day weekend! I started out my work week with a computer that went kaput. So sad. It wasn’t even very old–about a year and a half. I’d like to have a moment of silence for that HP Media Center. They don’t make them like they used to, I guess. My husband is going to take a look-see in hopes that perhaps we can raise it from the dead–in which case, would it be a zombie computer? I’m curious. Anyway, back to the task at hand: Tuesday TV!

Fall TV Round-Up: Monday Edition (or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying about the Week and Instead Just DVR Some Shows)

OK, so the title of this post is pretty much a lie. I haven’t learned how to stop worrying (yet?), but I will be setting my DVR to record some—well, many—shows on Mondays.

2013 Fall TV Round-up: Sunday Edition

Fire up the DVR’s! Grab a mug of hot tea! Put the kids to bed just a bit earlier than usual (um, because they have school the next day, right?)! It’s time for the return of fall television.

Dairy-Free, Eggless Chocolate Chip Cookies

Today I did something new. I created my first (and hopefully not last) dairy and egg free recipe.  I want to call it a vegan cookie, but then no one will want to try it. (I know that some people veer away from dishes with “vegan” or “vegetarian” in the title.) In fact, I didn’t even tell my husband it was a vegan cookie until after he devoured one. I’ll be honest, I’m pretty pleased with how they turned out as well.

Dinoshark and other Poor Decisions

Hello, friends! I hope this post finds you well. I am doing as well as can be—after having a go at Dinoshark, that is. I watched about fifteen minutes of it (which was about 14 minutes too many), before I called it quits. Let’s just say that I won’t be recommending that one any time soon.
