New to Netflix 4/23 (& a few weeks prior)

So I know, I know–you’ve been neglecting your Netflix queue. I don’t blame you. I mean, Game of Thrones is on and we *all* want to know when that jerk Joffrey is going down (he has to, right?) and I can’t wait for Aria to kick ass (also inevitable). That’s cool. I’m sure Netflix understands. However, if you want to give your queue some love, here are a few titles that may be worth a look-see.

It’s a sad Netflix day in my home

Today is the day I made a tough decision. I’ve decided to cut back my Netflix subscription from the two-at-a-time plan to the the single disc at a time plan. I really don’t know why I haven’t done this sooner as I don’t get through my DVDs as fast as I used to.

How much “I” is tmi?

I’ve always been a private person. I don’t readily spill my guts to random people. I tend to keep tight-lipped about my accomplishments (who likes a braggart?). Even in conversations, I’m more of a listener than a talker. In spite of my tendency towards privacy, I write. And I write on perhaps the most public of forums, the internet. Strange, right?

New to Netflix 3/5/13

Hello! Perhaps I should introduce myself. I’m Megan. I write and maintain this blog. I figured I would let you know who I am since I haven’t been around much lately. I’m trying to get back into the swing of things, so I thought I’d start the week off with the good, old, reliable “What’s New to Netflix This Week” post. (My fifth grade teacher used to start out every class by saying, “What’s new in the news?”, so every time I write these posts, I think about that. Funny how the brain works sometimes.)

If you could travel back to high school, would you? A review of Here I Go Again

Here I Go Again by Jen Lancaster is the latest book to be discussed for BlogHer Book Club.

I’ll be honest. For some strange reason, I’ve always been fond of movies where the main character travels back in time (usually to high school) to revisit decisions they have made. In fact, one of my favorite movies growing up was Peggy Sue Got Married (I never said I had impeccable taste). It’s rather odd that I would have been obsessed with that film *while* I was in high school, but I loved watching to see what Kathleen Turner would do in her high school life with her grown-up knowledge. So it’s no surprise that I dug in to Jen Lancaster’s Here I Go Again with glee.

Cleaning up the Queue: Taking the Virtual Walk of Shame

Hello. My name is Megan and I am a procrastinator. It’s not that I am intentionally putting off writing my blog or am getting bored with it. It’s not that I stopped watching movies or TV (I am, though not as much as I had before).  Heck, it’s not even that I’m suddenly disillusioned by what I’m viewing (though, in all honesty, quite a bit of it is crap). Nope, it’s that lately, I’ve decided that I really *need* sleep. And that every living being in my house is out to make sure I don’t get it.

Resolutions, resolutions

Well, it’s a few days into the new year and I have yet to set resolutions for myself. For some sick, twisted reason I very much enjoy making resolutions. I guess I have a harder time following
through with them.

Happy holidays!

Happy holidays, dear reader! I hope you have had/are having/will have a fantastic holiday season. Check back soon for more reviews, awards season predictions, and more fun posts on this blog!  Have a wonderful day! :)

Change afoot?

So I’ve been giving quite a bit of thought to my blog as of late. Yes, I’m sure it’s hard to tell as it’s been a while since I last posted. And, yes, some of those thoughts would cringe if they saw I started my blog with “so…” (to those thoughts, I say deal with it). I’ve come to the conclusion that my site is in desperate need of a makeover.

New to Netflix 10/30/12

halloween decorations

I think I’m ready for Halloween. Candy was ordered from Amazon a few weeks ago and has been tucked away unopened in the box since it was delivered so as not to tempt me (at least I hope it’s in the box). Baby’s costume has been planned out and is just awaiting the finishing touches. And last weekend we finally put up the decorations outside—complete with a real, live Halloween kitty. I should probably rent a horror movie to celebrate the creepy holiday, but I may end up watching ANTM instead (it’s scary in a totally different way). But before I commit to my Halloween entertainment, I thought I’d take a gander to see what is new to Netflix this week.
