I don’t want to write a post today….

There. I said it. I don’t particularly feel like writing a post today. My soft, warm bed is beckoning to me. It says, “Come on, Meg, forget about that blog and just close your eyes. You know you want to.” And I do want to. However, I said yesterday that I would take baby steps to get more done in my life–and the first mini-goal I made was to write a blog post every week day for five days. Here I go.

Today I walked over 19,000 steps. My goal has been at least 10k every day and I am thrilled that I almost doubled it (hooray!). While I am happy to totally rock my goal, my dogs are really barking. So here I sit, typing away as my daughter is dancing with sugar plums in dreamland. The puppy curled up into a little (OK, medium-sized) ball. He is looking at me with those big, brown eyes and wants me to snuggle next to him with a good book. I like to imagine that he enjoys reading over my shoulder, but who am I kidding? He is clearly a fan of sports fiction.

Lately, the written word has been calling to me. I haven’t been reading books. I’ve been devouring. According to GoodReads, I’m 9 books ahead of where I *should* be to reach my 50 books in 2013 goal. I’ve been on a young adult novel kick these days. Apparently anything written in this genre must be a trilogy (at least). Also, there is a strong post-apocalyptic theme with many of them. Something about these books have been drawing me in. I just finished Dualed in about two days. Now I’ve been scouring the interwebs and my library’s card catalog for the next meal for my eyes and mind. So, if anyone has suggestions on a good book–from ANY genre, not just young adult–please send them my way.

Have a wonderful Friday! 🙂
