I’ve had a busy summer—filled with highs and lows. I was able to go back to the Midwest and visit my family and watching my daughter play with her cousins on my dad’s farm was definitely a high point. It was so amazing to see her chubby little legs carry her around the immense yard. Even more amazing was watching her play in the rain and splash in puddles (we don’t get much rain in the desert).
And with all that joy came some sadness as well. While we were on our trip, one or our kitties got sick and died. Poor little cat. We were lucky enough to have some wonderful friends take care of her (and the other animals) when we were out, so they made sure she got wonderful care at a local animal hospital. Although I can tell myself that she was probably very comfortable and in a caring environment when she passed, I can’t help but become saddened by the fact that we were not there with her.
Sigh. Even though that cat could drive me bonkers, there is an emptiness in my life now. So now we pick up the pieces and move on—keeping her in our hearts and memories.
Like I said, it’s been a summer of highs and lows. I can’t believe it’s almost fall and soon I’ll be writing up my fall TV preview. I have to admit, that is one of my favorite posts to write.
Thank you for reading and have a fantastic day! And if you see a kitty, give it a pet and or a snuggle in honor of my cat, Chuck.
