Day 67: Walking With Dinosaurs (1999)

I know I have mentioned it before, but I have a pretty major fear of dinosaurs (yes, you read that right). I vividly remember nightmares I had as a child where I would open my bedroom blinds only to discover an enormous eye looking in at me. And that eye belonged to none other than a T-Rex. Eeek! I also was anti-straight door knobs and pro- round knobs—everyone knows that raptors can’t grip the globe-shaped handles. Sure, I spent a little too much time reading up on whether it is best to stay perfectly still or run when confronted by a dinosaur; but we will see who is laughing when the dinosaurs organize and prepare their assault on society. Not so crazy now, is it? (She says as she puts on her tin foil hat).

Day 50: National Geographic: Sea Monsters: A Prehistoric Adventure (or, my worst nightmare)

I’ve always said that I intend to be totally honest in my blog. So far, I think that I have achieved this. Sure, I have apparently been harsh on a few films. But in my defense, I think both Hot Tub Time Machine and The Book of Eli totally deserved what I gave them. Anyway, they started it. Here I was complaining that I was unable to use the DVD player on my computer to watch Land of the Lost, when I should have just taken it as a sign and shipped the movie back unwatched. How could I have been so dense? Miraculously, the DVD player on the computer worked last night when my husband looked at it (apparently you have to hit “eject” to remove an old DVD before inserting a new one). So, I naively attempted to watch Land of the Lost today.

Day 2: Primeval Season 3 (or, as I like to call it: Abby, No!)

Today I removed Primeval Season 3 from my watch instantly list, reducing the total to 202 from 203. Now, before you get the idea that I watched 10 straight hours of this BBC sci-fi/fantasy series in one day (which would be on the border between really cool and really sad), let me clarify that I actually started this season a few weeks back.

Netflix recommended the series to me, so I decided to give it a whirl. It took me a few episodes to actually get into the first season, but once I did, I found myself strangely hooked. Slowly and methodically I made my way through seasons 1 & 2 (conveniently lumped together by Netflix). When I finished, I decided to add the third season to my queue.
